BIGintheSKY operates a small local wood mill near Grand Lake o' the Cherokees in far-northeastern Oklahoma's beautiful Green Country. We take pride and satisfaction in providing our neighbors with wood (beams, slabs, and cookies) milled from local trees -- harvested for home construction and/or clearing of local utility easements -- that would otherwise be burned, or left to rot where they fall.
We are also pleased to offer milling services for your own personally grown lumber. Pieces can be crafted from wood milled from a felled tree on a grandparent's homestead, for example. Or a family that keeps a vacation home here will find value in wood items crafted from a tree harvested from their own land, or in the knowledge that wood used was harvested in the area.
People are enthusiastic in their appreciation for the Grand Lake area and find sentimental value in wood grown and milled here. There is a lot of potential to be found in the use of locally milled wood, and BIGintheSKY is here to assist local craftsmen do just that.
If you have logs that you need to find a place for after doing some tree work feel free to contact us and we may be able to offer a new use for them, solving your cleanup problem and allowing us to provide Grand Lake wood to those who don't have their own trees to harvest.
